January 2026 – Settling Back into Business
Camilla HuttonShare
January started in a calm and relaxing manner. After spending Christmas in the Lake District and a quiet New Year at home, I’ve taken a little time to ease back into work rather than diving straight in headfirst!
The break was much needed – cold, wintry walks with the dogs, plenty of good food and time spent seeing and visiting family. Stepping away properly always helps clear my head and it’s made coming back to work feel purposeful rather than pressured.
I’ve begun picking up a couple of projects that were already underway before Christmas, easing them back onto the cutting table and beside the sewing machine. Nothing has been rushed, but progress is happening and that feels like the right pace for this time of year.
With January already passed the halfway mark, I’m feeling relaxed and focused rather than behind. The quieter start gave me space to think about what I want the next few months to look like – which projects to prioritise, what needs refining and where to put my energy as the year unfolds.
The weather seems determined to keep us indoors bit there's no chance of that with dogs! The rain has been relentless – which makes it feel like perfect sewing, crocheting, knitting and crafting weather. Warm drinks, fabric and yarn close to hand and the chance to settle into longer stretches of making time are exactly what I need right now.
Over the coming weeks I’ll be building momentum again, finishing off these in progress pieces and planning what’s next for the business. After easing myself back in slowly, I’m now working full steam updating the website – and I’m very glad I took that gentler approach. It’s resulted in lots of work, with plenty of products that have now been added to the New Products for January section of the website, which you might enjoy having a look through. We've a few new exciting projects in the pipeline too!
And if you’d like to keep up to date with our latest news, new products and what’s coming next, do make sure you sign up for our newsletter! We promise not to spam you! Our aim to send newsletters twice a month.
Wishing all our customers, old and new, a wonderful 2026. I hope you’re able to make time for yourselves this year – to rest when you need to, to create when the mood strikes, and to look after your health and happiness along the way.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
